Why is meditation practice a core element of the course?

Mindfulness meditation is a way of training the mind to pay attention to each moment in time, in a non-judgmental way. When you bring your attention to your body, to your breath, your thoughts, your feelings and the world around you in the present moment, you find that your relationship to your experience of life changes fundamentally. Mindfulness meditation develops awareness, enhancing your ability to recognise and respond to life events in positive ways, rather than to react in ways that are habitual, unconscious and often not good for mental and physical health and wellbeing.
